Reminisce: Just A Good Damn Time

So...it's been a long time coming. We have gathered together one of the funniest and most social teams on the planet to put together, what we describe as Just A Good Damn Time. This party will be here for your savior at the first Sat monthly. Did anyone else get touched and wonder why in the hell music isn't as good after seeing Beats Rhymes and Life (Tribe Called Quest Doc)? Well it still is....all that music is still here. And you'll get to hear it all night long.

Now on to the starting lineup:

First up we got the man around your friendly neighborhood blog, Very Smart Brothas, none other than Panama Jackson himself. He's also a musical fanatic with discerning tastes. And most people 10 out of 10 find him rather amusing in a non laughing AT him type of way. All his events tend to have a strangely heavy women attendance. Not sure how that happens, but that leads to GOOD PARTY. (Hint, hint fellas.)

Next up we have non other than TC of Just Cause. This guy is the party. Everytime I look up he's doing shots or a large group of people seem to be looking towards his pelvic area. Huh? Good times all around.

On the musical selections, we have none other than Supa Qool DJ Uncle Q. The man behind the decks on tour with Low Budget phenoms like Kev Brown, Oddisee and Kokayi. This cat used to have a talk radio show with the "where did he come from" NY's own Hot 97 host Peter Rosenberg. He does everything!

All that is almost irrelevant if can't rock a party. But not to worry. Uncle Q is also the man behind Uncle Q's Living Room...long time running party at Blue Room in Adam's Morgan. One of DC's hottest in history. So....

Come out. And it's Free before midnight. $5 after.

Oh yeah....and open bar from 10-11pm. How can you beat that?

Little Dragon DC - the Countdown

Week of the show. 3 days to go.

This morning had a chat with our good pal Guy, who manages Little Dragon in preparation for the show this weekend. I'm all excited now and attempting to accurately revisit how I felt when the material for the second album touched me. First some of the songs live and then the album. Machine Dreams. It's kept me happy and held me over.

(As I write this my random iPod playlist has jumped to them twice...."Wink" playing right now. )

Well word is the next album is done. Being mastered. I can't wait. I'm so very excited to see what this band will be capable of. Everything seems to always be done well with this crew. And they are great people too. So...I'll stop babbling now. I'm really looking to forward to thisSaturday's show at Black Cat.
