Mark de Clive Lowe
A devastating live performer, the MdCL experience is marked by impromptu studio production created on stage from scratch, using drum machines, keyboards and effects. The end result: live remixes birthed on stage for each and every gig. With bold chops like this, to call him “prolific” is an understatement, having contributed to over 250 releases and being a first-call collaborator for a wide range of artists, including Jill Scott, Jody Watley, Leon Ware (Marvin Gaye/Michael Jackson/Maxwell), Dame Shirley Bassey, Sandra St. Victor (The Family Stand/Chaka Khan), amongst a slew of others.

Sy Smith
As a multi-faceted talent, Sy Smith has all the labels that most any artist seems to give themselves these days.  The thing with Sy is, she really is damned good at everything.  Sy Smith is a one-stop shop for singing, song writing, producing, acting, and performing.  It’s no wonder she feels just as at home when on stage with DJ Quik or Me’shell N’degeocello as she does with Chris Botti or Whitney Houston.  She’s toured with the aforementioned, and an impressive list of others including Usher, Chaka Khan, Macy Gray, Eric Benet and Brandy.  On television, Sy was one of the backing vocalists on a little show called American Idol for six seasons with the Rickey Minor Band, and she’s also been seen and heard in numerous commercials, jingles, theme songs, even having a stint on Ally McBeal as one of the recurring Ikettes. She’s featured on tunes with other underground stars Eric Roberson, Nicolay, Raheem DeVaughan, W. Ellington Felton, Rich Medina and Geno Young.

Just Add Water
Now, Sy is gearing up to release a new album produced by Mark de Clive-Lowe, a star in his own right in the world of urban alternative and club music. The first single “Truth” (to be released by Strictly Rhythm Records July 2010), is certainly keeping with Sy’s melodic styling, advanced harmonies and vocal arrangements, and smart lyrics.  MdCL’s production kicks up the syberfunk another notch with his moving bass lines, tripped-out synths, and unexpected chordal progressions.
